Who we are

What we collect

• Waitlist email:If you join the waitlist, we store your email address.
• Support messages:If you contact us, we keep your message so we can respond.
• In-app scanning:Scans run locally on your Mac. Findings are processed on-device. We do not upload your files or scan results by default.

Legal basis

• Consent (waitlist emails).
• Legitimate interests (operate and secure the website).
• Contract (if you purchase or license our app, when applicable).

How we use data

• Notify you about availability if you joined the waitlist.
• Respond to support and product enquiries.
• Improve the product in aggregate and without selling your data.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. Limited sharing may occur with trusted processors to provide services (e.g., email, database). For example, waitlist emails may be stored in Supabase (as a processor) under our instructions.

International transfers

Some processors may be located outside the UK/EEA. Where applicable, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).

Retention

• Waitlist emails: kept until launch or until you unsubscribe.
• Support messages: kept as long as needed to manage enquiries.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

• Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and portability.
• Object to certain processing.
• Withdraw consent at any time (where applicable).

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.

Children

OysterCatcher is not directed to children under 13.
